Academic
Temora Public School offers a diverse range of educational opportunities for students throughout their primary years.
Programs offered include:
- InitiaLit - A whole class literacy program that explicitly focuses on:
•Phonics (the sounds in words)
•Comprehension (understanding what you read)
•Vocabulary (understanding word meaning)
•Oral language (being able to communicate effectively)
•Letter formation - Language Lift - An intervention program that integrates research from speech pathology and education to explicitly teach oral language skill to small groups.
- MiniLit - A small group intervention program (K-2) that targets students who need extra support to develop decoding skills learnt in InitiaLit.
- Spellex - A whole-class spelling program that explicitly focuses on:
•grapheme choices (written letters)
•conventions (rules and guidelines)
•morphology (how words are formed and how they relate to each other)
•key spelling terminology
•regular assessment to track students’ progress - MacqLit - A small group intervention program that targets students (Years 3-6) who need extra support in reading and word recognition.
- Maths Olympiad and Maths Games - Problem solving groups in Years 3-6
- Aurora College - opportunity class to cater for academically gifted Year 5 &6 students with high potential

Extra Curricular
Temora Public School prides itself on the variety of extra-curricular activities we are able to offer our students in partnership with internal and external organisations.
- Activities for everyone - Some of our yearly opportunities include: Cross Country, athletics and swimming carnivals, Footy Friday Father's Day, Mother’s Day morning tea, Book Week, 'Red Day' with Temora Community of Schools, visiting performances and class excursions, yearly bike ride to Lake Centenary, Premier’s sporting Challenge.
